About Off the Grid 

Off the Grid is an alternative to the standard American education system. We are a small movement towards a future that truly values human beings as unique individuals, and strives to educate in the best classroom available: the outdoors. We do not have a typical classroom and do not force conformity or arbitrary rule-following.  At Off the Grid, we value each human experience, and allow children the truest freedom to explore life's wonders. OtG is a microschool comprised of one mixed-aged cohort that will stay together until 9th grade. The cohort will learn together, grow together, and experience the wonders of community and genuine human connections. A single curriculum is not forced on children, and each individual will learn on their own timeline with materials and resources that best fit their learning style. As a part of the weekly rhythm, OtG will venture into the community for enriching experiences and hands-on learning.
