Aarin Langford - Founder & Mentor

OtG was founded by Aarin Langford, an experienced educator, business owner, preschool founder/director, and mom. Aarin has been passionate about working with children since she was a child herself. She pursued her undergraduate degree in psychology, with an emphasis on child psych and wellbeing. She continued higher education by completing her Masters in Elementary Education. Her first teaching job was at a public Montessori in the heart of San Francisco. She then went on to gain experience in private schools, charter schools, and public schools; all with various philosophies, structures, and expectations from administrations, students, parents, and teachers. 

 

Aarin moved back to Oregon in 2021, and continued her educational journey as an online educator during the Covid-19 pandemic. She gained ample experience, and witnessed first-hand the pitfalls, trials and tribulations of an online education. Once permitted, she returned to an in-person charter school classroom at a school in Hillsboro, OR. It was during this year that she became pregnant with her first child, Aspen. 

 

After the birth of her son, Aarin shifted her focus to fulfilling her life-long dream of opening up her own school.  In the Spring of 2022, Aarin opened Little Explorers Early Education and soon found the need to expand. She went from a small, single staffed business, to full capacity with numerous teachers.  With the growth of her preschool, she felt a strong desire to continue to watch her students grow, learn, and experience an education centered around their needs. Thus, came the start of Off the Grid.
